busy busy. 3/3

Last part of this 3 series update!

Block Party: We recently had our 3rd block party! The Lord continues to grow and challenge our youth ministry to love our neighbors! We were able to meet lot’s of new families from our neighborhood! It’s incredible to see all that the Lord is doing through us as we simply love our neighbors!

Portland Trail Blazars: A few friends and I had an amazing 2 day trip to see a family friend play against the San Antonio Spurs. It was all of our 1st NBA game and we felt so blessed to have had the privilege not only to go to the game, but to stay afterwards and meet some pretty cool people! I was very thankful for this short trip spent with friends!

Moving: I’m currently in the process of moving houses. After 2.5 years of living with my best friend and her family, the Lord has opened up the doors to move. I will be moving into a 2-bedroom house with a lady from my church. I’m so sad to say goodbye to the family I lived with. I’ve been sleeping in 1 bed with two little kids (who I consider my little siblings) and I’m going to miss their nightly prayers and our nightly talks. However, very excited for the opportunity to be closer to work, church, and to have more space and sleep in my own bed! I’ve been enjoying looking up ways to decorate my room and our new space. Once I’m moved in and settled, I’ll be able to give you guys a video tour of the new place! In the meantime, I would appreciate your prayers through this transition. Please be praying that we can find all the appliance and things that we will need to furnish the house!

Part 2: sharing more of the many activities and things I’ve been working on these past 2 months in Mexico!

El Buho: On my off day’s I’m volunteering and serving at El Buho Coffee shop. This ministry is located in a small town about an hour from where I live. I’ve known and been a part of this ministry in very minor ways for the past 10 years. This year they had a need for more staff and invited me to join the team. It was not something I was planning on doing, nor did I feel that I had the time to do it, but I felt very strongly that the Lord was telling me to say yes and serve them. I work a 12 hour shift once a week. It sounds like a lot, and it really is, but somehow every week I’m so excited to spend my day serving them! Along with serving and loving on the local community, we get to meet and serve climbers from all around the world! People from all over the world come to this small town because it offers one of the best climbing spots in the world! During climbing season, this small town is a hub for diversity! I’m learning a lot about coffee, climbing & community! It’s been a great experience so far and I’m excited as the season is just beginning!

Grandpa Dotzler: In mid October I received a text message in our family chat saying that we should go and visit our grandpa as soon as possible. Shortly after, I realized the severity of his health. Unfortunately, I was not able to visit my grandpa before he passed away, but I’m so thankful to share that I had the privilege to spend many times with him this summer when I was home. On top of that I was blessed to have been able to fly home and spend a few days celebrating my grandpa’s amazing legacy with my family. I’m sad knowing that I will not be able to see him hobble around in his wheel chair, nor see his big smile, or hear him talk about his family and the love he had for them, but I can’t help but be grateful for the 90 years we had with him. I’m beyond honored to have learned, loved and laughed countless times with him! We will miss you Grandpa, but we will forever remember the legacy you left behind!

Since arriving back in Mexico 2 months ago, life has been busy! Hopefully these next few post will give you a glimpse into what I/we have been doing and working on!

School: Classes are back in action. The Lord continues to do His thing! The Lord has placed 2 special families in my life. Due to hardships in their country, these families are in process to migrate to the United States. The Lord placed on my heart to serve and help them as much as I could while they are in Mexico. I’ve hired on the 2 ladies to help me with my students and I have begun to give classes to their 3 children. I don’t know how long these families will be in my life, but in the meantime, I am doing my best to love, serve and bless them. They have been a huge help working alongside of me with my students & it’s very exciting to see God grow this ministry!

Speaking: I recently was invited to speak in Mexico City at a lady’s event. It was only my 2nd time giving a message in Spanish. The Lord was challenging me so much, but the event ended up being a huge success as the Lord was glorified! I was blessed to spend time with some incredible people and eat some incredible food! It’s never been my plan to speak, but I always want to be available for the Lord to use me as He pleases. Since this speaking engagement I’ve been asked a few more times to speak. I don’t know what the Lord is doing but I’m open for Him to use me!
